all I asked for was a smile, to feel at least like one of your kind • Skye panted, lapping thirstily at the last few drops of water left in his canteen. The liquid supply he'd packed along seemed to be disappearing a lot faster than he'd expected, the summer desert sun relentlessly beaming down on him continuing to dry out his throat and weaken his muscles as the boy kept trying to make his way through the desert.
• He was headed to Kraven. The boy looked down at his palms, absently toying with a weak flame he could make appear there. He quickly extinguished it, though - now wasn't the time to summon up more heat. It was only recently that he'd discovered his new abilities, and he had yet to master them. But what he was interested now, though, were the blank spots in his memories that he'd also woken up with that same day in Aurem.
• An 'angel'. That's what it seemed like he was - people who would awaken mysteriously, with strange abilities but no memories. It was an odd feeling, not understanding your own identity. Judging from his feathered features, it was most likely that he'd originally been a gajuma. Most of them lived in Kraven, right? Perhaps if he made it there... Perhaps he would finally be able to find something out about himself.
• But he still had a painfully long way to go, while at the same time being too far in to turn back - maybe this hadn't been such a smart idea after all... He gave a few more pants, wiping sweat from his brow as he forced himself to start walking again. The more he kept moving, the quicker he'd be out of the desert. He'd been flying until recently, but the heat had slowly sapped all the energy he needed to do so.
• This wasn't a good situation. That thought crept into the back of his mind, despite the boy's efforts to push it away. He'd be fine! ...But it would be nice if he could find someone passing by or some more water soon... Sighing to himself and muttering complaints under his breath, the boy pressed forward over the sands.

| Hot. Sweaty. Smoldering. Dry. All of the things that the Lycanthe dispised. If he didn't have to pass through the Kape Desert to just reach Kraven, he wouldn't be in this kind of environment. Not only does it go against the very animal that he is, but he's never been someone he liked being out in the sun. What he would like is the nice salty ocean lapping against the beach and the caws of the seagulls. The smell of sea salt in his nose and the crisp fresh air, but no he had to be in this dry and hot atmosphere. Not to mention he could swear that he looks like a lobster right about now. Most Lycanthes would have changed into their animal form to get a better edge of the environment, but he was WAY out of his comfort zone. He'd be a dead, dried out Octopus that managed to get itself out in the sands. This is why he would always tell the Rebirth leader that he's better suited for water type missions, NOT DESERT TYPES!
So why didn't he turn into his octopus form and swim around the desert you ask? Well because lately there have been an accumulation of of monsters in the ocean, not to mention that he would have to enter the south side with not so welcoming Lycanthe friends. Last time he did it, he got his face planted into some manure. Let's just say he didn't like that, and well. Bad things happened, so he isn't exactly welcomed on that side. Wiping away a few beads of sweat on his forehead, he repositions his cap on his head and pulls his collar up a little more to defend his poor neck from the merciless sun. He was dressed in his dark green outfit that covered about every inch of his body. Now one would say that he's crazy for dressing in that manner, but at least his body isn't bombarded by the sun's rays if he were exposed.
Even though tired as he was, his self discipline kept him from dragging his feet on the sand. He kept his head down from the sun and continued to march across the desert. He had only been walking for an hour, and he was sure he was making progress. He's close, he just knows it. His animal instincts that can just feel the fresh grass and abundance of water was pulling him towards the area. His instincts were all he needed to find his way, and a handy dandy map and compass~ Pulling out his compass and checking to see that he's going in the right direction he nods his head and pockets it as he continues. His blue eyes looking out towards the horizon for any threats. His right hand keeping a good hold on the holster for his sniper rifle. Though as he continues to look outward his trained eye starts to see a figure and he automatically hits the ground.
His hand pulling the rifle down to the ground quickly as he moves his head to see through the scope. Keeping his sniper rifle steady he looks through the scope to see a closer look at a person. Zooming in he frowns and a sigh comes from him as he continues to watch the boy. It's only a kid that seems to be stumbling around. He must have gotten lost or is struggling to get to his destination. Taking a closer look he notices the wings on his back and the type of color he had. A Gajuma? He's pretty far from his home town, that's for sure. Getting up and dusting the sand off of his clothes and putting the rifle back on his back he starts to jog towards the kid. His natural instinct to protect children and care for them making him forget what he was doing for a few seconds, but since this kid is a Gajuma and he's going to Kraven he can just have the kid tag along with him. I mean it's not like have a small detour will make much difference.
Slowing down as he gets closer to the kid, he takes out his cantee and holds it out towards Skye. Not really looking at the kid as he continues to look out towards the horizon. He had never been good with people, but children usually understood his real kindness and looked inside of him instead of looking at his usual cold appearance. "Drink. I assume you're going to Kraven?" Hans asks without looking at the kid. "If you're lost, you can tag along with me. Since I'm headed that direction." Hans repositions his cap on his head once more and finally looks at the kid with a cold stare before it melts away to a small sincere smile. | ♔ And Company loves more ♔ |

all I asked for was a smile, to feel at least like one of your kind • Having no other choice but to keep moving towards the desert's edge, Skye pressed forward, his dry throat starting to burn along with his skin, the sun bearing down on it uncomfortably. If he didn't find his way soon, he'd have burns to show for his escapade as well. His feet felt heavy, too, his steps leaving a trail that almost looked more so like slide-marks rather than footsteps as he dragged his feet, with a second trail from his limply dragging wings being left alongside it in the sand.
• It was when he heard the wholly unexpected sound of someone approaching that the young boy looked up again, out of his troubled thoughts. He blinked in surprise. Someone else! There was someone else passing by - what luck! And that was a gift he didn't normally have. It was a man; judging from his attire, he guessed that the passerby was some form of officer. Normally, he likely would've been a bit intimidated, but he was currently much more focused on the canteen in the man's hand as he approached.
• He gave a wide, relieved grin as the man spoke and offered him a drink, the boy taking the canteen and sipping the water before saying anything. It was amazing how good such a simple thing like a drink of water could feel when one really needed it. He drank perhaps a bit more than he should've, letting the liquid moisten his parched throat and mouth. Even just that little bit revitalized his energy. He looked back up to the man after he was finally satisfied, wiping a few stray drips from his mouth.
• "Thanks, mister!" He beamed, passing back the canteen and nodding gratefully at the idea of follow him to town. He studied the man more closely, now. The man had a somewhat cold face and intimidating gaze at first, but it softened as he looked down and their eyes finally met. Besides, he had to be a good guy! The boy figured. After all, he had offered him the water.
• Eager to get moving and get out of the desert, Skye shuffled a bit as he looked up at the man. His feet didn't feel so heavy anymore - the idea of not having to wander lost anymore and the fresh revitalization from the water taking away some of his fatigue. "Hey mister, what's your name, anyway?" He asked with a slight, friendly smile.
