~Please make sure to read all sections carefully~ General Rules Chat Rules Account & Character Rules Roleplaying Rules Graphic RulesDepending on the rule broken, you will usually first get a warning. However, repeated offenses or especially inappropriate behavior can result in either a temporary or permanent ban. Inappropriate or page-stretching images are simply deleted. General ♦ Respect all members, guests, and staff. No harassing or personal insults in the OOC environment. If you feel like someone has behaved rudely to you, PM the admin or a mod. The only drama should be IC.
♦ Please don't post anywhere aside from the introductions and character submissions boards until your character has been accepted by staff.
♦ In both the OOC and IC areas of the board, please try to use proper English. That means both proper grammar and proper spelling to the best of your ability (which at least includes spell checking - if nothing else, there is the spell check button at the bottom of the posting page). We are open to all levels of writing, but do put your best effort into the content and correctness of your writing. ...The c-box is naturally exempt from this rule.
♦ This should go without saying, but plagiarism is of course prohibited.
♦ This board is rated PG-13, in accordance with the Proboard's T.O.S. You can have violent/suggestive content in your RPs, but just make sure not to go overboard or get into graphic detail.
♦ Please try to remain active. We know that there is much more to life than RPing, and it can be hard to find time, but try and post at least once a week, especially if you have an active thread going with someone else. If any character has been inactive for a month (three weeks, for canons), or has failed to be accounted for in an activity check, they will be deleted, unless you have posted in the "Introductions & Farewells" board to let us know that you'll be gone for a while. Both IC and OOC posts count as activity. If you are deleted for inactivity, and by chance want to rejoin at some point, you can PM the admin or a mod if you want your characters back. However, be aware that your face-claim, and canon position if you had one, will be re-opened upon deletion. If your face claim or position has since been taken, you will be asked to edit your app before being re-accepted.
♦ Only advertise in the dedicated board. A link in your miniprofile page is fine, but no advertising in signatures, PMs, the c-box, or anywhere else.

Chat ♦ No unnecessary spamming.
♦ No impersonating.
♦ No advertising. There's a board for that. You can have a clickable link as your username, though.
♦ Swearing is allowed, as long as you don't do it in excess or direct it at other members.
♦ You can use a character that hasn't been accepted yet in the IC chat, as long as the members you are chatting with are aware of and okay with it.
♦ Follow all other general board rules.
♦ Staff reserves the right to delete any c-box post without notice. (This will only happen if a rule is broken.)

Accounts & Characters ♦ One character per account. If you wish to make more than one character, join with a new account for each.
♦ There is no limit to the amount of characters you can have. However, any character that fails to meet activity requirements will be deleted.
♦ Once you join, you have two weeks to post a character application that's at least a WIP (Work In Progress), otherwise your account will be deleted. Also, if you leave a character app as a WIP, you have two weeks from the initial posting date to finish it. Otherwise it will automatically be assumed dropped and rejected. If by chance you do return afterwards and want to resume working on it, please PM the admin or a mod. You also have two weeks to make revisions on your app if required.
♦ If a staff member asks you to make revisions or rejects an app, please don't argue. You may politely state your case if you think we've been unfair, or have misunderstood something, but staff have the final say. Insistent, aggressive arguing will get your account deleted.
♦ When your character is accepted, please change your display name to either your character's first name and last names or a nickname in all lowercase. If you use any other display name after your character is accepted, you will be asked to change it (or it may be changed by a staff member).
♦ No Mary Sues or Gary Sues! No perfect characters will be accepted - just like how there are no perfect people, there should be no perfect characters. Every character needs noticeable flaws. If we think your character is too powerful or too perfect, you will be asked to revise. That's not to say your character has to be weak, just don't go overboard.
♦ Please don't alter the character apps in any way! Things overall look tidier on the site when the character archives are consistent.
♦ Once a character is accepted, you have two weeks to join or create an IC RP thread. Otherwise, the character will be assumed abandoned and will be deleted, with the profile moved to the inactive board.
♦ Face claims are not a requirement, but all face-claims that are used must be from an anime, manga, anime-style video game, or visual novel. Check the face claim list before making an app, as in general, only one character will be allowed per claim.

Roleplaying ♦ Follow all general board rules when RPing.
♦ With the exception of the communication and quick posting areas, this board has a word count of at least 150 in order to avoid one-liners. This is not especially large, and even beginners should be able to accomplish this. If you do have a hard time, just remember to write down what it is your character sees, hears, smells, and feels, how they react to what the other characters in the RP just did or said, what they think about all this, and what they say or are going to do next (what your partner's characters will react to). As long as you put all this in, you should have no problem.
♦ No godmodding or powerplaying! Unless someone specifically gives you permission, it is just irritating and rude. The exception would be if you temporarily take control of another character of yours during a thread - this is allowed.
♦ You cannot kill another person's character without their explicit permission. If you put [DE] (Death Enabled) in the title of your thread, though, this rule is disregarded. Anyone who creates or joins one of these threads puts their characters at risk to be killed by other characters or controlled NPCs during the RP. However, for a death to be official, you must PM an admin or mod so that they can look the thread over, and move the dead character's profile to the "Deceased" board if they approve the death. As a final note, even if a topic is created as [DE], if someone makes one of these threads for the sole purpose of massacring the first character that joins it out of the blue and without warning, that death will not be approved.
♦ 3rd person is the default RPing style of this board. However, it's perfectly fine to experiment with other styles if your RP partners are okay with it.
♦ While not required, consider having a posting order for RPs with more than two people. If arguments come up about this, it is the topic creator who has the final say.
♦ Just to avoid conflicts, it should be noted that when you create and use an NPC in a thread, you are giving other players permission to use that NPC also, unless you specifically state otherwise at first creation or the NPC is somehow connected to your character (like a family member or friend).
♦ When an RP thread is completed, it would be appreciated if you could PM the admin or a mod so that it can be moved to the tread archives. RP threads will be considered inactive and moved there if no one posts in them for two months.
♦ Liquid time is definitely allowed - you can have one character in as many threads as you want. Just...try not to go overboard and take every single open thread that pops up.

Graphics ♦ All avatars and signature images should reflect your face claim only (or your character in some way, if you're not using a face claim).
♦ Images must not stretch the page.
♦ Signatures should not have a height greater than 350 pixels, and the above rule also applies to them.
♦ Regardless of whether or not they are of your face claim or character, no images can contain nudity. (A little bit of cleavage or skin is one thing, just make sure that everywhere that might be objectionable is covered.)
♦ Any images that violate the above rules will be deleted without warning.
