There has been an increase in monster sightings around Opharis - citizens need to remain alert during travel. Perhaps out of desperation and unease, the crime rate within the cities has also been rising at an alarming rate. Please use caution while traversing the streets after dark, as well.
Give life to a character here! You can find the templates, face claim, and list of claimed canons inside, as well. If you aren't done, put [WIP] in the title, but remember to take it out once you're finished! Once your character is complete, it will be reviewed by staff.
Does your character keep track of their thoughts or daily life through a diary or journal? You can post pages of it here so we can get to know your character a bit better.
With Airatessa being a world with high technology, devices like computers and cellphones are of course a part of this, and are a pivotal part of communication.
If you want to RP without having to worry about word count, you can start a quick, low-word topic here. Just make sure you list the location within the topic. If you are new to RPing, this can also be a good place to practice!
A special area within Sylvia where coliseum battles take place for both glory and entertainment. All hopefuls are allowed to enter, but make sure to read the rules first!
A town that is settled at the top of the Valice peaks. Because of the height the area is perpetually covered in snow. Despite its out of the way location, it's a highly cultured town, and attracts many tourists due to its view, recreational opportunities, and beauty. It is one of the few towns in Kaysa that is predominantly populated by humans, but it's a mixed race city. The easiest way to reach it is by gondola.
The biggest mountain range in Airatessa, and the main landmark of Kaysa. The mountains stretch out for miles, both across the surface and towards the heavens. The area around the base is generally shrouded in mist, and the top is always covered in snow. You can catch a gondola to Nyor city from the base, but be careful to venture in too far, as plenty of monsters call the Valice range their home.
A large river that runs all the way through the country. It's too swift to boat or swim in, but it is often used for fishing. It's fed from several streams that run down from the Valice mountains.
A village on a cliff with an unparalleled view of the sunset each morning, which is its namesake. Not many ever get to see it, however, as this is the village of the elves. Almost all remaining individuals of the elven race live in this natural but highly cultured town. Anyone else will need permission to enter, and it's not easy to obtain.
A huge marshland that stretches across a wide area. It's not livable for humanoid species, but it's teeming with monsters. Nonetheless, it draws a few visitors, as there are tales of treasures and artifacts hidden somewhere in the swamp...
A small, secluded town that is populated by the last remaining dwarves. The houses are built into rocky outcrops. Any race is allowed to enter, however, and many come seeking the high quality weapons and armor that the dwarves are known for building.
A large lake set at the border of a meadow. It connects to the end of the Kaysa river, but unlike the river, it is also a popular boating and swimming destination. It's known for its crystal clear surface.
A wasteland of a derelict human city that was abandoned long ago after people grew tired of the harsh and hot weather. Now, though, it is populated by escapee and unwanted replicas, who have decided to gather and call this dead city home.
A huge desert that covers much of the ground in Rookdale. It's always hot and dry here, and most travelers can easily get lost if not prepared. Watch out for sandstorms, too!
A series of mines that are treacherous but filled with resources. Monsters have recently started taking residence in the area, prompting most hopefuls to abandon the mines, but for the strong or brave, there are still potential money making minerals to be found here.
The north side of Kraven city, and the area where gajuma live. It's generally the more tourist oriented side, and has many shops as well as a Rebirth Outpost church.
The south side of Kraven city, and where the lycanthe live. Unlike the north side, this side is a lot less welcoming to visitors. The area between the border of the two sides is the site of a lot of gajuma and lycanthe skirmishes.
A large canyon and valley that runs through the north area of Rookdale. It can make for perilous traveling, but the path through the middle is fairly well traveled. Just watch out for monsters!
A hot, uphill forest. Due to the weather, the trees and shrubs that compose it are barren and brown most of the year. Clouds seem to hang low here, as well, giving the place a hazy look. It's said to be haunted by some residents of the neighboring Bastte.
One of the most rural areas in the country, the cast fields are used mostly to farm livestock, produce, and lumber before shipping it off to more populated areas. It's also a popular recreational area.
A small, crowded town. It's out of the way location makes it somewhat more peaceful than many other Opharis locations, however, and it's also one of the only cities in the country that's populated by multiple races.
A large, sprawling underground subway system that runs throughout Opharis. It's quick and convenient, but watch out for shady characters who may be lurking.
An area outside of any city or town where many factories, mills, and refineries are located. They're placed out here to avoid polluting the cities with noise or smoke. A few workers and their families still choose to live in the area, though.
A once thriving wilderness that has been largely deforested for lumber and other resources. A few trails still remain, though it's nothing but a shadow of what it once was.
The capital of Opharis, and home of the royal family. Being the only remaining solid government in this time of turmoil, the city and it's leaders are influential throughout all of Airatessa. Because of this, many think of it as not only the country's, but the world's capital, as well. It's a massive, elegant city.
A huge park outside of Sylvia, Horizon park is known for fantastical gardens, sprawling playgrounds and sports-fields, and the noisy, glistening amusement park at its center, complete with rides, booths, and games. The theme park section of the area is only open after dusk.
A port town along the coast of the Jasperr Sea. Many fishermen and marine scientists make their livelihoods here, and many tourists come for the beaches and resorts.
A network of cliffs and caves. Surprisingly however, they're one of the only remaining reasons that visitors sometimes still travel to Aurem - inside the caves are world famous hotsprings! If you visit, make sure not to stray far from the springs, though - it's easy to get lose in the labyrinthine tunnels.
A dark green forest constantly shrouded in mist and thorns. Because of the atmosphere, many people claim that it's haunted. Located near the coast, some areas of the forest are also separated from the mainland on small islands. These areas are particularly heavy on myths. Whether all these claims are true or not, it is known to have a dangerously high level of monster activity.
A town near the center of the country, and one of the only areas that still has a few inhabitants. A mostly human area, a few surviving residents refuse to leave the city.
A mysterious city that floats high above the continent. The only location in Airatessa with more advanced technology than Slyvia, it's home to the rare Kritya race, and very few others have ever set foot on it. No one aside from the Kritya themselves know how they keep it afloat.
A temple that has long stood in ruin well before the monsters began to appear. None one knows for sure what's inside it, but many claim that the Rebirth use it as a base for unknown reasons, though no one has been able to prove it.

The world of Airatessa was once filled with all sorts of cultures, races, magic, and advanced technology. Not only humans wandered its surface, but elves, half-elves, beastmen, and more called it home. It was a paradise. At least, it was until the animals began to mutate and monsters started haunting the once peaceful world.
People claimed that magic and technology had grown too advanced for the world to handle, and all the races started pointing fingers at each other. Even more stress was placed on the already struggling paradise, destroying any chance the inhabitants of Airatessa still had for peace. And if that wasn't enough, people, mostly promising young men and women, began to vanish from the cities - the last remaining places that the population had believed safe.
Instead of blaming the other races, a few individuals claim that there is instead a certain group of people responsible for the monsters and the disappearances, but is anyone brave enough to venture out and prove this theory? Much less put a halt to it? Or will Airatessa fall either to this group or to the suspicions and distrust of its own people?

The days are long and the evenings are warm, marked by the wails of insects and the songs of birds. The sky is usually blue and bright, carrying with it a blanket of heat. The days are enjoyable and full of life, but sometimes the heat becomes almost too intense, especially in Kaysa and Rookdale. Try to find some shade or water to cool yourself down with once in a while!
